Frank Herbert’s Dune series has been on my reading list since I was a teenager. The world he created is rich and nuanced, covering topics ranging from ecology to religion to propaganda and beyond. No wonder it has such a high seat inside my nerd brain. I could think of no better topic to kick off my series of Nerd Quests!
I watched the David Lynch version of Dune so many times that my friends and I created an EDM style song featuring clips from the movie.
But you can learn more about all of those things, why Frank Herbert’s Dune means so much to me, and what I think of the various film and television adaptations in this inaugural Nerd Quests episode where I talk Dune with Jim from the Film Rage YYC Podcast.
