What did you think of this conversation about AI and photography?

Have thoughts about artificial intelligence and photography? Concerned with how quickly it is advancing and the ethics surrounding it? As we mention in the episode, lawsuits against AI art platforms such as Stable Diffusion and Midjourney regarding the data sets they use to train their AI are ongoing.

Wondering when it will start taking photography jobs? Well, that has already happened! Since recording this episode, I came across several companies that offer “professional AI headshots”. That’s right, just submit twenty or so selfies and they will give you thirty to forty AI generated headshots. All for a very low price…

#stitch with @crystaldbright #greenscreen thoughts? Have we opened Pandora’s Box? I feel like this will be an option for all sorts of portrait photography within the next few years and the ability to “try on” different outfits this is going to change the game. Outside of my concern for my profession and how this tech will affect the industry, there are potential idenity issues at play. #photography #portraitphotography #prophotographer #photographytiktoks

It’s actually kind of crazy how good these are. For the moment, they are only web resolution. But how long will it be until they are fit for print?

Also, since we recorded the episode, Adobe announced their own generative AI, Firefly. I created a few pieces with it. While it’s not quite as realistic as other platforms, yet, Adobe is VERY transparent about the sourcing for the AI’s data set. Here are some images I put together with Firefly:
