There is a very specific kind of magic that happens when a photographer with ADHD locks in. It doesn’t happen often. It cannot be scheduled. But when it strikes — usually at 11:47pm, unprompted, three days after the shoot — the results are borderline supernatural.
In those fifteen glorious minutes:
- 400 photos get culled down to the 12 best shots
- Three years of backlogged invoices get sent
- A client email that’s been “marked as read to deal with later” for six weeks finally gets a reply
- The entire editing workflow gets reorganized into a system so brilliant it should be patented
- A logo gets redesigned, unprompted, for no reason
Then, at minute sixteen, a bird flies past the window, and it’s over. The photographer resurfaces four hours later having reorganized their sock drawer and learned, inexplicably, how medieval falconry worked.
Colleagues without ADHD call this “inconsistent.” Photographers with ADHD call it “Tuesday.” The invoices, somehow, still get paid. Nobody knows how. It’s fine. Everything is fine.
